This is a self-contained battery operated sonde which can be screwed onto the end of a drain rod and fed into a pipe. The pipe direction can be then be traced using a C.A.T scanner set to Generator/ Transmitter Mode.

Featuring an innovative integrated logic design, the The Radiodetection Genny 4 provides a revolutionary dual-frequency signal output. TWO SIGNAL APPLICATION TECHNIQUES
The 33kHz SGA3 Signal Generator can energise a buried metal pipe or cable either by ‘direct connection’ to the target pipe or cable or the simpler ‘induction’ method from above ground.

PULSED/CONTINUOUS SIGNAL OUTPUT
A Pulsed or Continuous signal output allows operators to switch to the Pulsed Mode at the push of a button in high interference situations and keep on tracing.

The SGA3 has a clear audible signal output to indicate when it is in operation.

A useful in-built audio mute control is also included.

ROBUST AND DURABLE CONSTRUCTION
The SGA3s twin wall construction is robust and durable. It also provides IP65 standard protection against dust and water ingress.

The Flexible Tracer is highly effective at locating and tracing the route of small diameter, non-metallic ducts, pipes, sewers and drains.

When used with any C.Scope Cable Locator and Signal Generator, both the route of a non-metallic pipe and a particular end point can be pinpointed with the Flexible Tracer. This is particularly useful for identifying the position of any blockages or obstructions within the pipe. If a depth measuring Locator is being used then it is also possible to know the depth of the pipe/blockage.

The Flexible Tracer is lightweight and compact making it very easy to transport. It comprises a 6mm diameter, 80m long continuous fibreglass rod housed in a strong reel that rotates on an axle. The axle has a slip-ring allowing the Signal Generator to remain connected to the Connection Terminals of the Flexible Tracer whilst it is being inserted into the pipe to be traced. A tiny Sonde is built into the tip of the Flexible Tracer allowing the end point of the Tracer to also be located. Uniquely, this Sonde is also flexible allowing the Flexible Tracer to negotiate bends in a pipe that would ordinarily stop a conventional Sonde from getting past.

There are two main methods for tracing the route of non-metallic pipes using the Flexible Tracer:

• Line Location – Feed the rod into the pipe/duct and attach one Direct Connection lead of a Signal Generator to one connection terminal of the Tracer and the other Direct Connection lead to an Earth Stake. The Rod can then be located thus identifying the route of the pipe.
• Tip/Sonde Location – Feed the rod into the pipe/duct and attach one Direct Connection lead of a Signal Generator to one connection terminal of the Tracer and the other Direct Connection lead to the other terminal. This energizes the Sonde at the tip of the Flexible Tracer allowing the end point and the depth of the Flexible Tracer to be identified.

The C.Scope SGA4 is an affordable Signal Generator designed for use alongside a CXL4 or DXL4 Cable Avoidance Tool. It enables significantly more underground utilities to be detected including street lighting cables.

SIMULTANEOUS DUAL-FREQUENCY
The simultaneous dual-frequency 33kHz and 131kHz signal output of the Signal Generators is ideal for maximising the number of buried services that can be energised and then detected.
The SGA4 Signal Generator can apply the dual frequency signal without direct connection to buried services, using either a Signal Clamp or the simple induction method from ground level, providing a significant improvement in the detection of the smaller diameter or poorly earthed cables.

THREE SIGNAL APPLICATION TECHNIQUES
The SGA4 offers three alternative ways to apply a Signal Generator signal:
Direct Connection allows specific pipes or cables to be individually traced, identified and their depths measured. The use of Signal Clamps, Signal Injectors and Direct Connection leads make this mode the most effective method for pinpointing pipes and cables.
If it is difficult or inconvenient to use Direct Connection, then the Wraparound technique can be utilised to successfully energise a street or car park lighting cable.
Induction allows the Signal Generator to induce a detectable and traceable signal to previously unknown, undetected or inaccessible underground metal pipes or cables.

HIGH POWER SIGNAL
The fully adjustable One Watt Power Output of the SGA4 means that deeper and less conducting pipes and cables can be effectively energised and then traced over ever longer distances. It also features a two position power levels so the operator has some control of how much power is in use and when.

PULSED/CONTINUOUS SIGNAL OUTPUT
